After breakfast Sophon and I headed out to Kaho Takiab – also known as Chopstick Hill or Monkey Mountain. Along the way I spotted this purple boat and took a picture of Chopstick Hill with the boat in the foreground. My father had painted a picnic bench almost the same shade of Purple so it reminded me of him and had to take the picture.
The walk along the beach was fascinating from a wild life perspective. Along the way I say plenty of crabs, baby octopus, hermit crabs, sea anemones, and other things I will be googling when I have the time.
I climbed to the top only to discover that you could take a taxi to the top from the other side. It was a lot of stairs in 95 degree weather. I was proud of myself for hiking up it and I set all-time records with my Fitbit and earned a bunch of badges for that (most steps and stairs). I must say the views of Hua Hin were worth it and seeing monkeys roam around as opposed to at zoos with cages is fun. There were a lot of signs about not feeding them and warnings that monkeys like to steal things and not to carry plastic bags which they think contains food.
So did you see anyone get attacked or get things stolen from a monkey? Someone not following the warnings?
When I hiked down the beach, I noticed 4 guys collecting crabs – they had a bag full of them. I saw them up at the top with their bag and remembered being told not to carry a white bags. Later I noticed the monkeys were feeding on a bag of crabs. I didn’t see anything and I was careful myself.
