We headed out in the morning to spend more time walking in the Historical park. I wanted to try getting some pictures in the morning light. When we arrived at the park, I headed to a particular section that I wanted to see in the morning light. As I did, I immediately noticed that there was a drone flying in and around the very monuments that I wanted to photograph.
It didn’t take me long to see who was operating it and I wondered if they had to have special permit. I couldn’t tell for sure but this looked like a hobbyist. On the one hand, I would love launching a drone and getting pictures and videos from above. On the other hand, I didn’t want to see or hear this drone. It was a distraction and I couldn’t help but wonder that in another 10 years, seeing multiple dronesbuzzing around an attraction would be the norm.
It was cool in the morning and it was really nice to walk around. That changed around 11:00 AM when the temps crept up and hit the 90’s. Bu that time, my fitbit was reporting I had taken over 10,000 steps. With the heat, both of us were getting tired and a bit cranky. We decided to take a break in an air-conditioned snack bar while we decided to our plan of attack for lunch.
After lunch, when we called for a tuk-tuk, the driver showed up with a brand new decked-out tuk tuk. He also had the old fashioned kind where the people ride in the back as opposed to the front which is a little unnerving. We decided to hire the driver with his tuk-tuk for the rest of the day as opposed to battling the heat. Another really good day!
